CELEBRATE AMERICA IN
SANDUSKY COUNTY

COMMUNITY EVENT INFORMATION
Sandusky County, Ohio plans for America's Birthday
In 2026, the United States marks its 250th anniversary—and Sandusky County, Ohio has already started setting the stage for a year of local pride, history, and community celebration. One easy “photo stop” is the America 250 Barn Mural at 3888 W. State St. (U.S. 20) in Fremont, created through a partnership between the America 250-Ohio Commission and the Sandusky County Visitors Bureau.
A centerpiece event on the county calendar will be at the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library & Museums in Fremont. The site has announced an Independence Day Concert and America 250 Picnic and Events on July 4, 2026 (11 a.m.–4 p.m.), pairing an old-fashioned picnic atmosphere with patriotic music—an especially fitting setting at America’s first presidential library.
Beyond these highlights, Sandusky County residents and visitors can plug into the broader “Ohio celebrates all year long” effort, with events and experiences planned across all 88 counties and listed through the America 250-Ohio events calendar. The state is also promoting signature experiences—like themed trails and creative stops—that make it easy to turn a weekend drive into a mini history tour.
Whether your community contribution is a parade, a living-history program, a museum day, a local art project, a veterans’ tribute, or a family picnic, America 250 is an invitation to tell Sandusky County’s stories past, present, and future together.
