The Wilson Nature Center is a family-focused facility that is integrated into the landscape and invites visitors of all ages to connect with the natural world. The center includes; nature displays,  fish aquariums, reptile terrariums, a window-on-wildlife room, a  library, indoor and outdoor program space, walking trails and direct access via a

“mudroom” to the Muddy Creek corridor.  The facility is handicap accessible and is equipped with an elevator and modern restrooms. The 310 acre farm property, located just outside of Lindsey, Ohio is still a working farm and is known for its beautiful hiking trails,  & fantastic fly fishing on "Muddy Creek" that snakes along the wooded side of the estate.  This area is also one of the areas best birding locations each spring and fall as the tropical and native birds migrate to and from breeding grounds in Canada.  This depression era farm is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and was the home of Bob and Fran Roush.  November 2014 marked the opening of the Wilson Nature Center.  The facility includes a Window on Wildlife/Library, Educational Classroom, Children's Activity Area and a small meeting room.

The barn area, adjacent to the nature center has been completely updated with tables, modern electricity and serves now as a banquet meeting/rental area with the rustic barn atmosphere.  For more information or pricing contact the Sandusky County Parks Department or the Sandusky County Convention & Visitors Bureau.

A group of young children are shown here exploring the rocky bottom of Mud Creek,  just outside of the mud room of the nature center.  Here they can collect samples to bring back into the center to examine under microscopes, research specimens and discuss findings with a naturalist.
