Stop Smoking Class

The Bellevue Hospital and The Ohio State University at Lima are teaming up to offer area residents a state-of-the-science smoking cessation program. The seven-week treatment and research study will examine the effectiveness of a cognitive behavioral-hypnosis program on smoking. Participants will also receive a free six-week supply of nicotine patches, courtesy of The Bellevue Hospital Foundation. Participants will also be given the option to learn self-hypnosis and use self-empowering suggestions to achieve the goal of becoming a non-smoker. Treatment classes will be held on Saturdays including January 6, January 13, and January 20, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in The Bellevue Hospital Conference Rooms A & B. Participants must attend all 3 sessions. Two support sessions are scheduled for Saturdays including February 3 and February 17, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. The class is limited to the first 25 participants to register and participants must be age 18 or older. Call Terry Webb at 419.483.4040, Ext. 4244 to register or for additional information. Participants should read over the consent form and program details at www.lima.osu.edu/bellevuehospitalprogram.
